Kenny’s Burger Joint

Since moving to Frisco, Texas my taste buds have not been disappointed. So you can imagine how excited I was when I was invited to visit Kenny’sBurger Joint in the Stonebriar district. When you hear the term “burger joint” you might think of words like “greasy” or “fast food” but Kenny’s is anything but. To put it differently, Kenny’s Burger Joint is casual, but modern, slightly upscale and masculine environment but one that is sure to appeals to everyone.  Stocked with a full bar and serving delicious, high quality food its gives new meaning to fast casual – and it delivers all of that with more than reasonable prices.

Needless to say, my boys were elated when they learned we were going. We started our foodie adventure off with the Kenny’s Loaded Cheese Fries and the Bacon Wrapped Jalapenos.

Both were so tantalizing and scrumptious that it was hard to decide which one pleased our palate more. My husband had the special for the moment, which was the Kobe Beef Burger. This is only available during December so hurry up my friends. It’s a half pound patty of Kobe beef with spinach, roasted tomatoes and melted provolone.  The smell alone was so tantalizing that the diners around us were looking over in envy, and the look on my husband’s face when he tasted it was one of pure bliss.

My middle son had a bacon cheeseburger, my youngest had a regular cheeseburger and I went with our servers recommendation which was Bud’s Queso – a burger smothered in bacon, sauteed onions and jalapenos and drowned in queso. Need I say more? It was unique and delicious. +
My youngest sons favorite part of the evening was dessert. He was able to create his own sundae by checking off what he wanted on the kids menu.  He was so proud and he felt so independent when he handed it our server. He even got whipped cream wasted with a cherry on top!  Needless to say, the ice cream was polished off as quickly as his juicy, delicious burger.

To end our night I had a dessert and a drink combined.  Forget the rated G kind I had the adult kind – Kenny’s famous “adult mikshake”  I chose the Insomniac, which was a staggeringly delicious mix of Kahlua, Baileys, espresso, and Chocolate Ice Cream.  The smile on my son’s face after eating his ice cream was no match for the one on mine as I sipped my milkshake!

With a natural hickory wood burning grill at a healthy 8 oz portion size they are perfect balance of taste and quality. The service is great and so is their wine list and full service bar. As cliched as this might sound, Kenny’s Burger Joint truly has something for everyone. Kid friendly, modern and all around great place to dine. Whether you are going out with the family, a date night or a girls (or guys) night you can’t go wrong with this destination.

We will be back for burgers and their salads and, oh, I will have an adult milkshake or two. I give Kenny’s Burger Joint two hands up. Two big hands up…..

We had the turkey burger, bacon cheese burger and shared an order of fries which were all delicious. You have to get the bread pudding with ice cream, this is the best that I ve ever had in a while so save room for dessert. This is a very busy joint on the weekends but worth the wait my friends.
